"On behalf of the City of Chicago
and the Mayor's Office of Special Events, I'd like to thank you for your
performance at the Taste Stage during the 19th Annual Taste of
Chicago. Your performance was one of the highlights during the 11-day
festival."
Erin Malloy,

"Thanks so much, Denise... people had a great time. And I had a
ton of wonderful comments from people as they were leaving at the end of
the evening. Thanks so much for the great show!"

playing for us last week. My parents were at the swamp (at Brookfield
Zoo) and absolutely raved about your music."

"The Chicago White
Sox would like to thank you once again for the gate
performance on Thursday, August 17, 2006. We are
always very happy with your concerts and it's a pleasure
hosting you each time. The fans have expressed how much
they enjoy your music."

"The Chicago White Sox would
like to thank you and the Midway Ramblers Cajun Band for your
gate act performances on Wednesday, June 7th. We were very
pleased with your sets....Your involvement helped make our
series against the Detroit Tigers a huge success. Go Sox!"
Amy Sheridan, Manager of Game Operations, Chicago White Sox
"It has been an absolute pleasure to have you perform at the
Brookfield Zoo over the years---not just to hear you, but even more
to watch the delight in the faces of your audiences as they danced
the day away. The Midway Ramblers have also served the zoo
extremely well in more formal settings. You have set just the right
tone for cocktail parties and corporate events in The Swamp exhibit,
and smoothed the way for excellent meetings with our trustees.
Having the Midway Ramblers take part in the production of our
Catered Events promotions video made all the sense in the world,
because you have starred in so many private and corporate events
here at Brookfield Zoo."
Josh Mogerman, Director of
Communications, Brookfield Zoo
"The Chicago White Sox
would like to thank the Midway Ramblers Cajun Band for
another superb gate act performance on Sunday, July 9,
2006. We were very pleased once again with your set and we
hope you enjoyed your time at U.S. Cellular Field."
Amy Sheridan, Manager of Game Operations, Chicago White
Sox

"We want to
express to you our sincerest appreciation for your wonderful music at
our (wedding) reception. You have gained a number of new fans!"
RB
"Thank you and
all the band members for your hard work and dedication. Our friends
still talk about the fantastic time everyone had at our wedding
reception dancing to the lively music of The Midway Ramblers. You made
the day so memorable, we can’t thank you enough."
LN
"Wow! What a presence you and
the Midway Ramblers were at the birthday party. You were simply
fabulous. Your band turned what was just a lot of friends and family
chatting with each other into a rip-roaring good time. Everyone
mentioned how much they enjoyed the Midway Ramblers. And I know that
the budding washboard players had a blast."
Stephanie
"I just wanted to tell you how
pleased we were with your band's performance at our daughter's reception
held at the Hyatt Hotel on March 16. It was a whole new experience for
most of our guests and the response was most enthusiastic! You all show
how much you enjoy your music and everyone soon became an active part in
it. The dance instruction proved a great way to get people, all ages,
on to the dance floor. The fact that most of the guests were still there
when you folded up your music was a compliment to your band."
MW
Libraries/Schools:
"We were
fortunate to have the talented Midway Ramblers Cajun Band do 2
performances for us at York High School this past March as part
of our Fine Arts Week 2007. The band was not only very
entertaining to our students and staff, but was also good at
educating us about the history and importance of their unique
style of music. Our students also enjoyed the chance to play the
triangles, rubboards, and shakers in some of their songs.
We were
all impressed with the spirit and high energy level of this
band, as well as their overall commitment to the authenticity of
the music. Denise was professional and easy to work with in
setting up the details of their performances and we plan on
having the Rambler Band back to York in the future so that we
can keep working on our “Aieee’s”."
Curt Merrill – York Community High
School/Elmhurst IL
Fine Arts Week Committee Chair
"Wow! Merci beacoup! You gave
us one great performance and a really good time. ....You had an
appreciative audience that enjoyed your music so much they had to
get up and dance -- a sure mark of a great band. Plus, you threw
in some painless history of Cajun and Zydeco music that made people
want to know more about it and also hear more of that Bayou music.
Again, thanks for taking time out your busy schedule to visit us.
I'll be sure to tell the other programming librarians in the area
about our positive experience with you. Many of our patrons asked
to have you back and it would be a pleasure to work with you again
in the future!"
Gena Zelenka, Adult Programming
Librarian, Park Ridge Library
"I just wanted to write a note
and say how absolutely wonderful we found your performance on Friday.
The patrons could not have been more pleased! It was everything we were
looking for – lively, upbeat and educational. I won’t hesitate to
recommend the band to my fellow programming colleagues, and everyone at
Barrington thanks you and wishes you all the best."
HS, Barrington Public Library
"A very heartfelt thank you for
the wonderful concert performance at the Women’s Auxiliary Lunch
(Elmhurst College). Everything was perfect—from the history and culture
to the foot-tapping of the actual performance. I greatly appreciated
all of the ease with which we planned for the program."
KW, Elmhurst College
"Thank you for doing such an
excellent program at the...library during our "Swamp Night." You and
your Cajun Band were the hit of the SWAMP. No one could believe how
fast the hour went. Kids and adults alike had nothing to say except how
much FUN & ENTERTAINING your group was. I really appreciated your
willingness to ....provide high quality entertainment for the entire
family."
Veda Miller, Chicago
Public Library
"I wanted to personally thank you
for making Family Day a huge success. We appreciate all the time and
effort you put into making lunch an enjoyable experience for all. Your
performance was absolutely wonderful."
LD, Senior Alumni Officer, Elmhurst
College
"My son Charlie
walked through the door from school and gave the aieeee Cajun holler!
He had a thank you note from his 2nd grade class expressing
their delight with your program. I am still getting feedback from
parents, teachers and students about how much they enjoyed your
presentation. I wish to thank you for coming and sharing your
wonderful music and history of the Cajun culture. I got a call
from a parent who was overwhelmed with your music. Thank you for
making the first presentation of our TARGET Fine Arts at Richland a success!"
BC, Parent
Volunteer/Coordinator
"I thought yesterday's ... program was one of
the best ever and it was great to have another overflowing audience."
Andre Larson, The Shrine to Music Museum, Vermillion, South Dakota
"I would like to thank you and
the rest of the Midway Ramblers Cajun Band for coming down to the
studios of WLUW to tape an hour of live music and discussion about Cajun
culture. The entire hour long segment ran as part of our Mardi Gras
weekend celebration and was very entertaining and informative. We had
some very positive listener feedback about the show and we have used
individual song excerpts on subsequent shows. As host of 'The New
Orleans Music Hour,' it has been my pleasure to help expose the Chicago
listening audience to The Midway Ramblers Cajun Band. Your songs have
the energy and authentic feel of great Cajun music and it is obvious
from the discussions between songs that the band members have a deep
understanding of Cajun culture. I especially enjoyed Earl's description
of Cajun Mardi Gras and the way it differs from the better known New
Orleans Mardi Gras. The songs that you recorded at our studio have fit
in very nicely with the regular material that is played on our weekly
show."
Tom Jackson,
Host/Producer, WLUW 88.7 FM, Loyola University, Chicago
"The participants and faculty of
The Language Connection's 1997 Seminar for Intensive Professional
Development of Chicago Public School French teachers would like to thank
you for participating in our program. Because of your gracious
contribution, our teachers gained a greater understanding and
appreciation of French-speaking cultures. Your presentation was a very
stimulating and enriching experience for all of us, and it played a
significant role in the success of our program. We look forward to
further collaboration with you in the future."
