Featuring 2 days of vintage performances by
Chicagoland’s premier tribute bands and local original artists

Beginning on Friday, September 23, 2005, at 6:00 pm, and running through Sunday morning, The Katrina Relief Concert, organized by Sam Leach, American English, Onesti Entertainment, and Michael and Joeleen Stanard, will be held at the northern Illinois' newest outdoor concert venue, located in the tiny Village of Greenwood, just north of Historic Woodstock, Illinois.  The venue, located at 5112 Greenwood Road next to Galt Airport, features a 50’ X 70’ covered stage with lawn seating for over 12,000.

Sam Leach, manager of American English, Liverpool resident and original promoter of the Beatles, is also coordinating an identical Katrina Relief concert internationally.

American English (Beatles Tribute), Elevation (U2 Tribute), The New Invaders (60‘s Tribute), Hot Rocks (Rolling Stones Tribute), Instant Karma (Tribute To John Lennon), Problem Child (AC/DC tribute),  The Midway Ramblers (Cajun Tribute) and The Neverly Brothers (50's - 60's), along with many more surprise musicians, will be performing this benefit concert on Friday beginning at 6:00 pm.

A special guest appearance will be made by Thaddeus Richard, a former member of Paul McCartney’s Wings band and a hurricane Katrina survivor from the New Orleans area.  Richard was the clarinet soloist in the Wings song “Listen To What the Man Said,” and many other Wings songs.  Thaddeus also played with McCartney in New Orleans on his Driving Rain Tour in 2002.  He will be speaking about the devastation that occurred in New Orleans and accompanying American English.

The outdoor venue can accommodate up to 12,000 people.  Some limited chaired seating will be available, but it is recommended that attendees bring blankets,  umbrellas and lawn chairs.

Special accommodations will be made for the disabled.

Tribute performances will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, run until 4:00 am on Saturday.  Donuts and coffee will be available for breakfast purchase until the “Jam Band” begins at 12:00 pm, featuring a wide array of original artists - Madvine, Malfunktion, Sweet Pick, Tall Grass Magicians, Venetian Red, Rob Webster and Friends, Dag Juhlin of Poi Dog Pondering.

100% of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to The American Red Cross.

The Stanards, owners of Galt Airport, are graciously donating their land and major influence to make the Woodstock Katrina Relief Concert a major contribution to relief efforts.  “Uncle Mike” and his MLH Electrolight lighting company will be providing the lighting for the event.

Ticket prices will be $20.00 at the gate ($10 for 12 and under). Parking will be $5.00.

Guests are invited to stay the night either camping under the stars (no tents allowed, so bring a sleeping bag) or camp out in your vehicle. There will be NO CAMP FIRES ALLOWED due to insurance reasons. We're also working with some local hotels to try and get discount rates for festival goers.

Food and beer will be available for purchase. There is a special request that concert goers bring as much bottled water that can be carried to be loaded into Salvation Army trucks to aid the victims.   Non-perishable items will also be accepted.
